BitBase: cryptocurrencies without barriers — from the first step to secure transactions
May 06, 2026
Cryptocurrencies are increasingly becoming part of everyday life, but for many they still seem complex and generate distrust. BitBase aims to solve this problem by combining digital technologies with physical presence and a personalized approach.
We spoke with Nadia Karabín, CEO of BitBase, about how the platform helps users safely enter the crypto world, why the offline format remains an important advantage, and how trust is built in the industry.
Founded in Spain in 2017, BitBase is now actively expanding into international markets, including Argentina. In this interview, we discuss key services, the most common user mistakes, transparency of conditions, and how to make interacting with cryptocurrencies simple and clear for everyone.

– Nadia, could you tell us a bit about the exchange? What services do you offer and how long have you been in the crypto market?
At BitBase, we are a cryptocurrency exchange focused on making the crypto world simple, safe, and accessible for everyone. Our main service is the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies, both with pesos and dollars, with the option to operate via bank transfer or cash, adapting to the needs of the Argentine market.
We also stand out by offering personalized support in physical stores, where we assist both beginners and more experienced users, providing tailored advice and solutions.
In terms of our track record, BitBase was founded in Spain in 2017 and has since been steadily growing with a network of physical stores and crypto ATMs across different markets. In Argentina, we began operations in 2024 with the opening of our first location, and we are currently in a phase of active development and expansion throughout 2026.
Our goal is to continue growing and establish a presence in the country’s major cities.
– How would you describe BitBase to someone seeing it for the first time?
BitBase is the simplest and most trustworthy gateway into the world of cryptocurrencies.
For someone encountering us for the first time, we like to define ourselves as a “physical exchange”: a place where people can come, ask questions, understand how the ecosystem works, and operate with real support—something rarely found in fully digital platforms.
We combine technology with face-to-face service, which allows us to build trust in a market that often feels complex or distant. In this sense, physical presence plays a key role: in an environment where scams and misinformation are common, users value the ability to speak with a real person, see a physical location, and operate more securely.
Our goal is for anyone, regardless of their level of experience, to access the crypto world in a clear, safe, and guided way.
– What would you say is your main competitive advantage compared to other exchanges?
Our main advantage lies in combining three key pillars: competitiveness, experience, and regulatory trust.
On one hand, we offer highly competitive exchange rates, which is essential for users looking to maximize the value of each transaction, whether buying or selling cryptocurrencies.
This is complemented by the strength of an internationally established brand: BitBase was founded in Spain in 2017 and has experience operating in multiple markets, allowing us to bring proven practices, processes, and standards to the local market.
Additionally, we operate within a compliance framework and are registered as a PSAV, reinforcing transparency and trust for our clients.

– How did the idea of creating this service come about, and does the name have a special meaning?
The idea for BitBase originated in 2016, when Alex, the company’s founder, together with a group of friends, began asking whether it was possible to bring the crypto world into a physical, regulated format. At that time, the ecosystem was growing but remained highly technical, not very accessible, and entirely digital.
They saw a clear opportunity: to create a space in Barcelona where anyone could come, understand what cryptocurrencies are, and operate simply, with real support and face-to-face interaction. That vision led to the creation of BitBase in 2017, making it one of the first physical exchanges in Europe.
As for the name, “BitBase” reflects this essence: “Bit” refers to the digital world and Bitcoin, while “Base” represents a foundation or starting point—a place where people can take their first steps into the crypto ecosystem with confidence and support.
– What main problem are you trying to solve for users?
The main problem we aim to solve is the lack of trust and clarity when dealing with cryptocurrencies.
For many people today, the crypto world still feels complex, technical, and often associated with risks or scams. This creates a significant barrier to entry for those who want to start but don’t know how or where to do so safely.
At BitBase, we change that by simplifying access, providing real support, and offering an environment where users can operate with peace of mind—whether in cash or via bank transfer—knowing there is a reliable company behind it.
Ultimately, our goal is to help people move from distrust to trust, and from hesitation to action, bringing crypto closer to everyday life in a safe and accessible way.
– What do you do today to build trust with users, and do you have a concrete example?
For us, trust is not just a message—it’s something built in every transaction. That’s why we focus on personalized attention, real support, and verifying each operation when something seems unusual.
We don’t just facilitate buying and selling cryptocurrencies; we also play an active role in protecting users, helping them avoid mistakes or potential fraud in an environment where such risks are increasingly common.
A clear example involved a client who came to us intending to invest nearly $50,000 through supposed “brokers.” Before proceeding, we analyzed the situation and identified inconsistencies in their profiles and related information. After a detailed review, we confirmed it was a scam.
Thanks to this process and our team’s support, the client avoided losing a significant amount of money.
Experiences like this build something extremely valuable for us: word-of-mouth recommendations. When users feel that you not only completed a transaction but also protected them, a natural network of trust begins to grow.
– How does your service work: instant exchange, P2P, or another format?
We operate as a direct crypto exchange, not under a P2P model. This means clients trade directly with us, with clear rules, defined prices, and no need to interact with third parties.
The first step is creating a user profile, which allows us to verify identity and ensure a secure and transparent transaction.
For purchases, clients can visit the store and operate in cash or make a bank transfer if they prefer to do it remotely. Once the payment is confirmed, they provide the wallet address where they want to receive their cryptocurrencies, and we handle the transfer. All receipts are automatically sent via email.
For sales, the process is reversed: we provide a wallet to receive the cryptocurrencies, and once the transaction is confirmed, the client can withdraw funds in pesos or dollars.
– What types of exchanges do you offer (crypto-to-crypto, crypto-to-fiat, etc.), and which currencies and payment methods are most commonly used?
We primarily operate in the crypto-to-fiat segment, which is currently the most in demand. We see many clients who, for example, earn income abroad in cryptocurrencies and need to cash out monthly into pesos or dollars. At the same time, in market conditions like the current ones, demand for buying is also growing, which helps balance the flow between inflows and outflows.
As for the most used assets, the main ones are USDT, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, which account for most of the volume due to their liquidity and widespread adoption.
Regarding payment methods, our main strength is the physical channel, where clients can operate in cash. However, we observe an interesting pattern: many users start by operating in person to build trust and, once they understand the process, transition to digital transactions via bank transfer for the convenience of operating from home without the need to travel.
Ultimately, we offer full flexibility—from a guided, in-person first experience to a more agile and remote operation for users who are already familiar with the process.

– How long does a transaction usually take, and how are fees applied? Are there any additional or “hidden” costs users should be aware of?
Transactions at BitBase are fast and typically take between 10 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the complexity of the operation and the blockchain network used. We always aim to make the process as quick as possible while prioritizing security and proper validation of each transaction.
Regarding fees, we operate with a fully transparent structure: the price quoted to the client already includes our commission, so there are no additional costs or surprises at the time of the transaction.
In other words, we operate with no fine print. From the very beginning, users know exactly how much they will pay or receive, and before confirming any operation, all details are clearly presented.
Our approach is simple: full transparency to build real trust in every transaction.
– Do you have a mobile version or app, and what features do you consider most important for user experience?
Currently, in Argentina, we do not have an active mobile app or dedicated mobile version.
However, we are working on developing digital tools through our website that will soon allow users to check rates and begin their first steps online.
Beyond the channel, we believe that the most important aspects of user experience are simplicity, clarity, and transparency—ensuring that users understand what they are doing, how much they are paying, and have all the necessary information to make confident decisions.
Our goal is to create an intuitive, frictionless experience aligned with what users truly need.
– What support channels do you offer (chat, WhatsApp, Telegram, email, etc.), which works best, and how quickly do you usually respond?
We offer multiple support channels to adapt to each user’s preferences: WhatsApp, Instagram, and email.
In practice, the most effective channels with the highest engagement are WhatsApp and Instagram, as they enable fast, direct, and close communication.
In terms of response time, we usually reply within the same day, as long as it is within our business hours.

– In which countries or regions do you currently operate? Are there any restrictions for certain users, and do you have expansion plans?
We currently operate in Spain, Portugal, Costa Rica, Panama, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina, which allows us to bring international experience and strong standards to every market where we are present.
Regarding restrictions, as a Virtual Asset Service Provider, we operate in line with FATF guidelines and local regulations, including our registration as a PSAV in Argentina. This involves identity verification processes and checks on the origin of funds, meaning there may be limitations in cases where user information cannot be properly verified.
As for expansion, our focus is on continuing to grow within Argentina, with the goal of establishing a presence in the country’s main cities and bringing the crypto world closer to more people.
– How can platforms like Kursoff help exchanges like BitBase?
For an exchange like BitBase, platforms like Kursoff provide several key benefits.
On one hand, they increase visibility among users who are already in the decision-making stage—people who are not just discovering crypto but are ready to operate and are looking for the best option. Being present there positions you directly at that critical moment.
On the other hand, they reinforce trust. These platforms usually list verified exchanges with reviews and prior validation, adding an extra layer of credibility for users.
Additionally, they allow transparent competition on key variables such as exchange rates and transaction speed—areas where BitBase can stand out, especially by combining competitive rates with personalized service.
– If you had to summarize it in 2–3 points, what would your main competitive advantages be?
First, trust: we combine physical presence, personalized support, and an internationally established brand since 2017, reducing friction and perceived risk.
Second, competitiveness: we offer attractive exchange rates and a transparent structure with no hidden terms, where clients always know exactly how much they pay or receive.
Third, simplicity: we make crypto operations easy, whether in cash or via bank transfer, guiding users throughout the entire process.
– Who is your ideal user, what mistakes do they usually make, and how do you help them avoid them?
Our ideal user is anyone who wants to operate with cryptocurrencies safely—from beginners taking their first steps to experienced users handling larger volumes and looking for a reliable and efficient alternative.
As for common mistakes, we see several patterns: not fully understanding how wallets work, sending funds to incorrect addresses, or trusting unreliable “advisors” or platforms that ultimately turn out to be scams.
This is where we add value. We don’t just execute transactions—we guide users through the entire process: explaining each step, validating information before proceeding, and helping identify potential risks.
Our goal is clear: not only for users to operate, but to truly understand what they are doing and become increasingly confident and secure over time.
– Do you have referral programs, bonuses, or benefits?
Currently, we are working with BONDA, a platform that allows users to access benefits, rewards, and experiences through a system of memberships and partnerships with various brands.
Conclusion
BitBase is ideal for those seeking transparency and guidance at every step of their crypto journey. Buying and selling cryptocurrencies under clear conditions, performing secure transactions both online and in person, and having personalized support make the platform reliable and easy to use, regardless of experience level.
With trust, competitive rates, and a simple user experience, BitBase transforms what once seemed complex into something accessible and understandable for everyone.
